Lady Knights achieve major victory over Yuma team | Local Sports News
The Lady Knights hit another big win this week.
On Tuesday night, the Lake Havasu High School girls’ soccer team hosted the Yuma Criminals regular season game. The Knights ruled out the criminals 8-0.
According to head coach Josh Kistler, the Knights’ passing game really took off in Tuesday’s game, which explains the high score.
“I tell the girls if we pass, we win,” said Kistler. “It was a game with a lot of completed passes. The girls are finally a good match and it shows.”
Kistler also praised the work of new goalkeeper Emma Hogstead.
“She didn’t let anything get past her and the defense held the line as well as they can,” said Kistler.
Junior Presley Evans led the Lady Knights with a hat trick and an assist. Junior Kadyn Mortenson also scored a hat trick.
The LHHS girls soccer team will be at their home field this Friday at 6:00 p.m. when they host River Valley High School for a rematch.
