PHOENIX — A popular Easter egg hunt in south Phoenix returns this spring after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Croc Center Phoenix invites families to its 5th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza beginning at 10 am on April 16.

The event will be held at the Kroc Center at 1375 E. Broadway Road, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

“We are beyond excited to bring this event back,” Kroc Center corps officer Caroline Rowe said. “The pandemic prevented us from holding the event the last two years, and I’m sure families will be busting at the seams to get back on the Kroc Center lawn to enjoy a day of family fun and fellowship.”

Eggstravaganza will have three available Easter egg hunt times, starting at 10:30 am and then two more at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm Kids will be separated into three different age groups: ages 3-and-under, ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 11.

The free event has more than egg hunts, offering arts and crafts, a bounce house, family games, music, food trucks, dance performances and more.

For the first time at the event, the Kroc Center will be having a “vendor village” inside the gymnasium to support local business and community members.

The Kroc Center is accepting plastic Easter eggs and candy donations for the event.
