PHOENIX – Country legend Willie Nelson will soon be back with some of his musical superstar friends, including a fall stop in Phoenix.

The latest version of the Redheaded Stranger’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour will take over the Ak-Chin Pavilion on October 15th

(Note, country fans, this is right in the middle of the Arizona Country Thunder run, which has been postponed until October 14-17.)

Tickets will be sold to the general public on Thursday at 10 a.m.

The tour is led at all stations by Willie Nelson and Family – his tour and recording band – with various casts of all-star support acts.

The Phoenix Slate is sure to delight a wide range of fans including folk rock heavyweights The Avett Brothers, southern rock jam band Gov’t Mule, American icon Lucinda Williams and British roots rock duo Ida Mae.

“The Outlaw Music Festival Tour has always been about bringing family and friends together for a great day of music and fun. With the amazing group of artists joining us, this year promises to be our most special Outlaw tour yet “Nelson said in a press release.

The Outlaw Music Festival debuted in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2016 before evolving into an annual touring franchise that featured Robert Plant, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan.

Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are among the cast queuing for parts of the 14-Show 2021 tour, which begins August 22nd in Austin and October 24th in Wheatland, California, outside Sacramento ends.

Nelson last visited Phoenix in May 2019 for a two-day booth at the Celebrity Theater.

The 88-year-old singer / songwriter / actor / cannabis enthusiast will likely be glad to know that Arizona has since legalized recreational marijuana.
