Letter: Is there someone in charge of Omicron Prevention Oversight in Tucson? | Local Affairs

Mask requirements must be enforced. Shops are filled with those not wearing masks as they cough and sneeze liberally without even covering their mouths. Many appear to be too poor to afford a mask for themselves or their children. Masks and towels must be easily accessible to anyone entering a public space. Many people cannot afford masks. Many grocery stores are not wiping down their shopping carts and many if not most that have wipes available probably have Covid non-stop wipes.

There needs to be an improvement in local oversight to gain control of the Omicron transmission.

Because people are tired, they become careless. Tucson needs public service announcements to encourage people to stay the course. All stores should be encouraged to play announcement reminders that customers must follow safety protocol. Please, would someone rise to a leadership position in Tucson, do their job, and take responsibility for initiating oversight of public safety.
