Letter to the editor: Flagstaff shows up again for the fundraiser | Letters

Our community is also virtually involved and tries to support others on an international level.

On March 6th, Elevate Nepal hosted our fourth annual Big Lebowski fundraiser for Nepal. Four years of relentless efforts have gone into building this fundraiser and our international aid organization that calls Flagstaff at home. With so many causes in the home requiring attention and the pandemic dictating our ability to host a personal event, we planned to move our fundraiser to the virtual world this year. Unsure of what response we would get from our sponsors and supporters, we went on with hopeful optimism. The magic of our fundraiser has always revolved around the ability to host a personal event. To our delight, the virtual fundraising campaign on March 6th was a complete success! We achieved our donation target and exceeded our audience target.

Events like this are a great example of why we all take pride in calling Flagstaff at home. It’s amazing to be part of a community where those who are able get involved and help others when asked to. A big thank you to the Flagstaff community for trusting Elevate Nepal and our mission to provide opportunities and help to those in need. As always, our work in Nepal is made possible by the unconditional generosity and support of our donors.
