Letter to the Editor: News from Barnes & Noble is still making waves through the community | letters

It was with great sadness that we heard that B&N had lost its lease at its Flagstaff location. As a local independent bookstore in Flagstaff, we’ve enjoyed having Barnes & Noble as a valued partner in our small mountain town. As we know, local businesses support local jobs and generate local tax dollars. We hope Flagstaff will continue to support its two remaining local bookstores – Bright Side Bookshop in downtown Flagstaff and Bookmans on Milton, as we anticipate B&N closings will be temporary. We also look forward to the time when B&N can secure a new location – and when that happens we will welcome them back to the Flagstaff market. There’s plenty of room for all of us, and supporting local businesses is key to a thriving and vibrant community.

ANNETTE AVERY AND LISA LAMBERSON

Co-owner of Bright Side Bookshop
