Lil Wayne Courtside at the LA Clippers-Phoenix Suns game

Hello Lil Wayne.

Or finally, a famous person in the stands at the NBA Western Conference Finals.

To be fair, it is possible that the Phoenix Suns Arena will swim with celebrities during the home team’s seven-game series with the LA Clippers.

But with the exception of an early sighting of Guy Fieri, we didn’t see much of them, either on TV or on social media.

On Monday, however, Lil Wayne, the rapper and basketball fan, especially the LA Lakers, was there. He watched the Clippers beat the suns up, 116-102, and sat for at least a photo next to James Goldstein, the sharp-clad man who has been a staple of the pitch at NBA games for years.

Goldstein posted a picture of the two on Instagram in which he quoted Lil Wayne: “Sittin next to Goldstein” – Lil Wayne #nbaplayoffs.

Lil Wayne is known as a Lakers fan. But it was decorated in orange

There’s no clue as to whoever was looked for, though Lil Wayne’s bright orange jacket at least suggests he’s pulling for the suns. Why would a Clippers fan wear something like this? (Lil Wayne herself didn’t post from the game.)

Goldstein’s Instagram has plenty of photos of him at the Staples Center when the series goes to Los Angeles. His outfit, however – white trousers, a beach scene shirt, a floral jacket and a pink patterned scarf topped by a hat – betrayed no particular loyalty.

There was something to be seen, however.

But Goldstein is an LA guy, so it’s reasonable to assume that he enjoyed Monday’s game more than most in the arena.

The playoffs were dry in terms of celebrity sightings, at least on TV and social media. Fieri was in the game between the Suns and the Denver Nuggets on June 7th. That made sense – the Food Network star visited dozens of restaurants on Metro Phoenix. Fans became aware.

It is not a network decision to underestimate celebrity presence. Maybe the arena is just filled with hardcore fans and nothing else. Or maybe famous people aren’t on the show.

Anyway, keep your eyes peeled in LA.
