Only a few minutes after the first emergency calls were received, the operator received a message that the friend had been hit by a car driver.
“When the police arrived, Delano Dean Tsosie, 37, of Sanders, was contacted several hundred meters north to try to escape from the place where the woman, who was later determined to be Tsosie’s girlfriend, was hit by the moving car was, “said the police report.
The woman was treated on the spot before she was flown to a valley hospital with serious injuries.
The police report said witnesses told 911 operators that Tsosie allegedly beat his girlfriend, which caused her to flee into the thoroughfare where she was hit.
Tsosie was arrested and charged with domestic violence-related misconduct and an Apache County Superior Court arrest warrant for failing to appear on the original criminal identity theft, shoplifting, and failure to provide law enforcement officers with a true name on the $ 2,500 bond.
