Man dead, woman injured in overnight shooting on Phoenix | Arizona News

PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A man died and a woman was injured in a shootout that resulted in an accident in the West Valley early Saturday morning.

Phoenix Police said officers responded to an accident in which a car crashed into a wall near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road just before 1 a.m. When the police arrived, they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Ann Justus says the man and woman were parked nearby when someone approached the car and shot into the vehicle. The victims tried to drive away when they hit a wall in the area.

The investigation continues and investigators are working to find out what could have led to the shooting. They’re also trying to find a suspect.
