Man in cloned US Border Patrol vehicle, fake uniform arrested in Tucson | Arizona News

TUCSON, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – A man in a counterfeit U.S. Border Patrol uniform driving a cloned Border Patrol vehicle is in custody after attempting to smuggle migrants near the Tucson border.

In a tweet, U.S. Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector Interim Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin said Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Border Patrol stopped an attempted smuggling of a driver and ten migrants near Tucson.

The car the migrants and the driver used was a cloned vehicle, similar to the Border Patrol vehicle. The driver was also wearing the wrong uniform. The driver and ten migrants have been taken into custody, according to Modlin.

This is not a Border Patrol vehicle. @HSIPhoenix and #BorderPatrol agents from #Tucson Station foiled a smuggling attempt with a cloned vehicle and a forged uniform. The driver and 10 migrants were taken into custody. pic.twitter.com/tpl4cLkUhE
