Monique McCarroll Obituary (1965 – 2022) – Phoenix, AZ

Monique F. McCarroll, loving and beautiful wife, daughter, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 16, 2022, in Scottsdale, Arizona. She will be remembered as a generous, loving companion who adored her family, friends, and all kinds of animals. Monique married Rob Hines in Phoenix, AZ, on December 9, 2017. She loved to travel and resided with her family in Phoenix and Puerto Rico. Monique looked forward to exploring a new culture and the Caribbean but sadly, those dreams have been cut short.

Monique was the salutatorian of Indio High School in 1983 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Public Relations from California State University at Long Beach, CA. She held a Masters of Business Administration, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California and was awarded ‘Best Business Plan of the Year’ by the USC Marshall School of Business. A gifted storyteller and writer, Monique excelled at a career in marketing for major corporations, the nonprofit sector, and as an entrepreneur.

She loved to entertain and cook, and while she did not always read the book, she never missed a book club meeting and a chance to bond with her friends. She moved away from Southern California to Phoenix in 2003, but she remained a die-hard Trojan football fan all her life, much to the chagrin of her Sun Devil friends.

Monique was dedicated to caring for her mother and supported her husband unconditionally. She loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs, and rarely missed the opportunity to pet one. She was a loyal confidant, a strong advocate for others, and a once-in-a-lifetime friend. Her joy was contagious, her smile radiant, and her sense of humor was just the right amount of wickedness. Her intelligence, laughter, and compassion for others will be remembered and missed forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Hines, her mother, Rachel McCarroll, stepson, Sam Hines, and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim McCarroll. A service will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, at a later date. Her ashes will be strewn in the Pacific Ocean, where her father was laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, you may donate in her name to the Arizona Humane Society or Coachella Valley Horse Rescue.
