Monsoon rains hit the Phoenix metropolitan area, lightning flood warning issued

PHOENIX – Metro Phoenix experienced another dose of monsoon season 10 days after the first measurable rain since April 27th.
The National Weather Service issued a lightning flood warning for Maricopa County around 6:10 p.m., which lasted until 10:30 p.m. Storms followed shortly afterwards.

With winds from the north, storms near Sun City and Surprise were reported first and quickly worked their way south.
Another storm cell emerged from the east in the Fountain Hills area before it met on Scottsdale, Phoenix and Glendale.
Watch out for DUST in the Eastern Valley!
