Netflix, Rege-Jean Page secure nominations for Emmy Awards – Deadline Dead

Netflix’s Bonkbuster drama Bridgerton has received its first 12 Emmy nominations.

The Shondaland Regency Era is nominated for Best Drama Series, while lead actor Rege-Jean Page, who played the preppy Duke of Hastings Simon Bassett, received a Lead Actor, Drama nomination.

In addition to the nominations for two main prizes, Bridgerton is represented in nine other categories, including historical costumes, cast, cinematography, directing and original title music.

Bridgerton’s second season is currently being shot in the UK, while Netflix has confirmed that third and fourth seasons are also in the pipeline. The drama became the biggest Netflix series of all time after being watched by a record 82 million households around the world.

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on CBS and Paramount + on Sunday, September 19.
