Not the task of the city council | Letters to the editor
If Gennifer Glenday really thinks it’s a “fiduciary responsibility” of the city council to get a Costco to the area, it has to get real. They have a hard time just paving the city streets and hiring enough cops to catch drunk drivers.
Costco targets an average annual income of $ 93,000 before opening a new business, and prefers suburbs. Does that sound like Show Low? Navajo County has an average annual income of less than $ 41,000. Look around you girl Do you think all of these devastated cars filling the goodwill parking lot fit this Costco demographic?
We might be lucky and have Frys one day. We all have to eat. Possibly a target as the population increases. But a Costco? I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Prescott does, however, and I’ve heard that it’s a lovely place to live too. Maybe she should consider it.
