Patrick Harvey Obituary (1935 – 2022) – Yuma, AZ

Patrick Isaac Harvey

March 10, 1935 – December 29, 2022

Patrick Isaac Harvey was born March 10, 1935 and raised in Cherokee, OK. He entered his eternal rest on December 29, 2022.

He was a great and honorable man, husband, father, grandfather, businessman, and mentor.

After military service in US Army, he obtained his degree from University of Arizona. He then met his bride, Carolyn Rae Carrie Harvey and adopted her children Michelle and Steven.

In 1971 he moved the family to Yuma where he welcomed his other son, John. He was involved in the community in various aspects: He was a member and even chairman of the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce. His activity with YCCC led him to become a founding member of Governmental Affairs Forum (GAF), a bi-partisan political action group that kept County and City politicians in check. He also served as Precinct Committeeman along with his bride, helping her political aspirations as he could. He was active with his son’s BSA and sporting activities. He was a business innovator as well as a hobby farmer. His latest venture in farming was Medjool Dates. He enjoyed exploring the desert, taking seldom driven trails. He also found fishing on the Colorado to be a relaxing pastime.

Later in life he enjoyed having his family and grandchildren around, as well as writing poetry.

He was preceded in death by his bride, Carrie Harvey, and son, John Patrick Harvey.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Leann Harvey (Terry Cordero-Torres), his son, Steven Michael Harvey (Carol Jone Ekstrom Harvey), and numerous grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is set for Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Johnson Funeral Home with internment to immediately follow at Desert Lawn Cemetery. All arrangements are being handled by Johnson Mortuary.
