Phoenix adult care facility owner arrested for murder, Arizona police say

PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – An adult care facility owner is now behind bars after police claims he murdered a man at the center in West Phoenix months ago.

Valer Catuna, 52, was arrested Tuesday.

According to police, 53-year-old William Griswold was found dead on October 21, 2020 at the facility near 35th and Grovers Avenues. Investigators initially said there were no signs of bad play and that Griswold’s death was a “medical event”.

But the Maricopa County Medical Examiner later performed an autopsy and ruled the death as murder.

Phoenix police officers investigated, collected physical evidence and interviewed witnesses over the next several months. You have enough to take action against Catuna and arrest him, the police said. He was jailed for second degree murder.
