Phoenix Coyotes fire Steve Sullivan as GM assistant and are not looking for a replacement

GLENDALE. Ariz. – The Arizona Coyotes have sacked Assistant General Manager Steve Sullivan.

The team said Thursday it would not seek a replacement for Sullivan and did not provide any further details.

Sullivan, who played one season with the Coyotes, was hired from Arizona in 2014 under former general manager John Chayka. He was promoted to GM assistant in 2017 and served as an interim GM last year when Chayka left the team.

Sullivan was also the general manager of Tucson Roadrunners, Arizona’s AHL subsidiary.

He played 16 NHL seasons with Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Arizona and two stints with New Jersey before retiring in 2014.
