Phoenix men add Davis, Jedkins to roster

GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s basketball program and Head Coach Will Ryan recently announced the additions of Garren Davis and Amari Jedkins to the roster.

Davis, a 6-foot-4 guard from Dallas played two seasons at Loyola Maryland before transferring to Clarendon College for the 2021-22 season.

Davis averaged 17.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game on 42.6% shooting from the floor and 38.1% from beyond the 3-point arc for the Bulldogs.

He has two years of eligibility remaining.

“We’re thrilled to have Garren join our program,” Ryan said. “We will welcome his experience and leadership from his years at Loyola and Clarendon. He’s an exceptional shooter who can score in bunches. He also competes at a high level on defense. We expect him to make a positive and immediate impact. He’s hungry and committed to helping uplift and move Green Bay basketball forward.”

Jedkins, a 6-foot-8 forward from Racine, played his prep ball at Racine Case High School.

During his senior season, he helped lead case to the 2022 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 1 State Tournament, averaging 16.9 rebounds, 9.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

Jedkins was also named honorable mention all-state by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association and The Associated Press.

“We’re excited to add another Wisconsin prospect in Amari to our program,” Ryan said. “We saw him play last summer and during Case’s final four tournament run this season. We loved his intangibles and his upside. He’s long, athletic and plays with an infectious energy that fans will love. He’s a versatile, slashing, wing/forward who has a bright future.”

Davis and Jedkins are the second and third official signings by the Phoenix, joining Denmark High School forward Donavan Short.
