Phoenix police say a thrift store held more than 5,000 fentanyl pills

A little girl received a stuffed animal from her parents, but they later discovered that thousands of fentanyl pills were stuffed into the glow worm. They turned the pills over to the Phoenix Police Department.

After Phoenix police alleged that a little girl got a firefly soft toy from a thrift store, her parents reportedly found it had thousands of fentanyl pills in it.

Over 5,000 of them, the department said in a tweet on February 20. The stuffed animal is said to have been bought in a second-hand shop in El Mirage.

Police say the parents turned the drugs over to the department.

“Make sure you inspect all open and unused items,” police said.
