Phoenix police searching for fire starters from 2020 and armed would-be robber

A dangerous duo attacked Perez Tires at 15th Avenue and Hatcher Road in north Phoenix. It was July 3, 2020, at about 3:30 am

Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Reaume says they were heavily disguised in face masks and hoodies.

“Possibly a male and a female, we’re not sure, though,” he says.

First, they started fires in two vehicles in the parking lot.

Then, “They threw two Molotov cocktails at the actual building before fleeing the area.”

Reaume says the security cameras caught them in the act.

“And in one of the photos, it appears to be one of the suspects lighting one of the Molotov cocktails.”

Next, we head to the Target store at Seventh Street and Bell Road before 9:30 pm on Jan. 17, 2022.

“This case is an aggravated assault,” Reaume says, “because the suspect was armed with a knife and threatened an employee with it.”

The man, wearing a hoodie and a face mask, tried to break into a locked cellphone display case.

He was unsuccessful and ran out of the store. As he was fleeing, his mask fell down and the cameras caught a picture of his face.

The pictures also show the large knife in his hand, which he used to threaten an employee who tried to stop him.
