Phoenix women get votes in first football poll | Lebanon
Cumberland is just outside the top 25 in the first NAIA women’s football polls published by the National Bureau.
The Phoenix are 3-1 after the first four games of the season against Florida College, Freed-Hardeman University and Life University. The only loss of the year for the Phoenix came from 8th place at the University of the Cumberlands, who lost a tough 1-0 game.
The Mid-South Conference has five teams in the top 25, while the Phoenix sits just outside the polls.
Martin Methodist is the highest ranking MSC member institution in the survey, ranked 5th. Cumberlands also appears in the top ten at 8th place.
Lindsey Wilson is number 13 on the poll after getting 300 points. Bethel comes in at number 25.
Cumberland currently ranks eighth in the NAIA on shutouts and eleventh place on assists per game at 3.25.
The Phoenix will return to the field on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Lindsey Donnell Stadium against Shawnee State.
