Pima County Public Library: Community Spotlight: Yume Japanese Gardens of Tucson

The library Biblio Lotus, opens a new window team is pleased to present this series of interviewshoping to raise the voices of the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) communities and celebrate their culture. Respondents come from diverse backgrounds and backgrounds, but their commitment to AAPI stories and cultures helps shape our diverse and dynamic community in Pima County.

Patricia Deridder is the founder and managing director of Yume Japanese Gardens, opens a new window, a Tucson nonprofit that aims to share the tranquility of a Japanese garden with our community. We are grateful to her for sitting with us and giving us some insight into how the gardens were created and some of the unique features of a Japanese garden.
