Police Blotter: 2 people were arrested with $ 500,000 in suspected fentanyl pills
HOLBROOK – On March 23, Felipe Guadalupe-Guerrero, 25 and Juan Francisco Estrella-Valdez, 22, both from California, were arrested and detained in Navajo County Jail for possession, sale and transport of narcotics. Both are being held for a $ 25,000 bond, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reports. At approximately 11:51 a.m. on March 23, an officer from the Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic disruption on 3rd Street in the Winslow area.
Consent to search the vehicle was requested and granted. The search found 16 sandwich bags of blue pills labeled M30. The pills are suspected to be fentanyl. It is estimated that there are around 16,000 pills. The estimated street value for these fentanyl pills is approximately $ 500,000.
2 arrested with $ 17,000 worth of meth
HOLBROOK – Two people were arrested on March 19 for possession of methamphetamine with a street value of $ 17,180, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Judith Sueann Moore (36) from Winslow and Venita Faye Owens-Castaneda (63) from Heber, Arizona, are charged, among other things, with transporting dangerous drugs and selling dangerous drugs. A sergeant from the Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped his vehicle at 5:52 a.m. on State Route 87, mile marker 340, near Winslow.
7.67 ounces of methamphetamine were found during the investigation.
Reward of up to $ 10,000 for information about the Sawmill murder
PHOENIX – A reward of up to $ 10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of two brothers in Sawmill, Arizona.
The FBI Phoenix Field Office, Apache County Sheriff’s Office, and the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations are searching for information about the murder of Matthew and Phillip Reagan on March 21, 2020.
The brothers traveled to California from Ohio and were driving through Sawmill at the time of their death. The coroner ruled that both deaths were murder.
Joseph Dedman Jr., Apache County Sheriff, said: “Although it has been a year since this premeditated and brutal crime took place, we must remember that the families of both brothers continue to experience the pain of their loss as if he were would have taken place only yesterday. “Our goal is to make sure we bring those responsible to justice,” he said, “and at least bring closure and healing to the families of Matthew and Philip Reagan.”

Reward offered for information about the Shiprock Man’s death
ALBUQUERQUE – The FBI is offering up to $ 5,000 in rewards for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person (s) responsible for Isiah Terrell Billy’s death. On October 5, 2020, Billy’s body was found in a car wash east of the Sinclair gas station near Mile Marker 23 on US Highway 64 in Shiprock.
The cause of death is still pending but is considered suspicious. Billy, then 30, lived in Shiprock. The FBI and the Navajo Nation Public Safety Department are investigating.

The FBI is soliciting information about Nenahnezad’s death
ALBUQUERQUE – The FBI is offering up to $ 5,000 in rewards for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person (s) responsible for David Russell Jr.’s death. On January 5, 2020, Russell’s body was found in his residence south of the chapter house in Nenahnezad, New Mexico.
The cause of death was a blunt force trauma to his head. Russell was 53 years old. The FBI and the Navajo Nation Public Safety Department are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 505-889-1300 or go online at tips.fbi.gov.
The NM State Police are planning April checkpoints
ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico State Police will conduct sobriety checks, saturation patrols, and registration, insurance, and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties in April. In a press release, police said: “We are raising awareness of these events in order to reduce alcohol-related deaths through continued media attention and intense advertising. “These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitudes towards drinking and driving,” the press release said. “Hundreds of lives could be saved every year if every driver had the courage to make the right decision not to drink and drive.”
