Police fatally hit while searching for suspects in Phoenix
PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department searches for the driver of a black SUV for a fatal hit and runs late Saturday night.
The officers were called to the scene near 35th Avenue and Palm Lane at around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, the department said. They found the victim, a 65-year-old man who was lying on the street with life-threatening injuries.
Phoenix Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene not long later and pronounced the crime scene man dead, police said.
Witnesses at the scene told officers the man was crossing north of the intersection when a black SUV hit him, the department said. The vehicle continued after it hit the man.
Anyone with information about the escape is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
