4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS: At Cottage Grove, Phoenix Senior Nate Wood finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute and 8.99 seconds and led the Pirates on Saturday.

The 200 freestyle relay of the Phoenix boys by Wood, Zyan Shull-Bain, Tyler Clark and Elwood Hosking finished sixth in 1: 41.66, and the same four was eighth in the 200 individual medley relay (1: 58.52).

The Pirates finished 12th overall in the boys’ team with 67 points.
