STATEN ICELAND, NY – The archive page today is dated March 1, 1961.

Two masked gunmen knock a shopkeeper in New Brighton unconscious and escape with $ 170.

The victim, 45-year-old Vincent Capizzi from Dongan Hills, is being rushed to Staten Island Hospital and is in good condition.

Capizzi runs Jimmy’s Suprette at 10 Daniel Low Terrace. It is reported that he told detectives that the robbery occurred around 8 p.m. as he was getting ready for the night.
