Raised more than $ 66,000 for the Phoenix Cancer Support Network at the Friendraiser event

The Phoenix Cancer Support Network broke previous donation records, raising over $ 66,000 at the organization’s fifth annual Friendraiser & Gala.

This annual event provides substantial support and an opportunity to raise funds for the coming year, according to a press release.

These funds will allow PCSN to continue providing services that fill the cancer care gaps for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

The Friendsraiser & Gala 2021 was hosted by Emcee and the local radio legend “The Morning Mayor”, Dave Pratt and “Lifestyle by Jules” Julie Xander. Many participants came dressed in shades of blue to honor the 5th anniversary theme of sapphire and wood.

Highlights included touching stories from several PCSN customers and how PCSN has supported them along the way. There were some poignant moments when Megan Rogalski spoke about her husband, Casey’s valiant battle against colon cancer.

Also present was Dr. Steven Sckolnik, a radiation oncologist who spoke about treating Casey and how he always strives to be a better doctor for the community.

There were also some lighter, fun moments. Fred Astaire dancers from Paradise Valley taught the gala attendees the PCSN Shuffle. The highlights of the auction included a number of bidding battles over multiple items, including a family-fun night basket and a pair of signed Mike Tyson boxing gloves.

“My heart is filled with the generosity and support of our donors, sponsors and customers,” said Jenny Martin, CEO and Founder of PCSN. “Until cancer is eradicated, we will be forced to continue our mission to alleviate some of the pressures that go with diagnosing this terrible disease.”
