Red Flag Warning and Wind Notice Set for Thursday for Northern Arizona | KAFF News – Flagstaff
A wind notice and a red flag warning will apply throughout Northern Arizona on Thursday when a strong storm system is blowing northward. The wind report is valid from Thursday morning to Friday evening, while the red flag warning only applies to Thursday. Areas included in both alerts include: Flagstaff, Prescott, Williams, the Grand Canyon, Winslow, the Navajo Nation, and areas in between. Forecasters expect winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts of up to 40 and possibly 50 miles per hour. Any spark could start wildfire and spread quickly. Remember: do not throw cigarettes out of the vehicle window. If you are towing a trailer, make sure the trailer chains are away from the highway. If you see smoke call 9-1-1.
