Rege-Jean Page says his family is not “overly enthusiastic” about the intense “Bridgerton” scenes

Rege-Jean Page says his family wasn’t as happy as the many Bridgerton viewers to see those hot sex scenes on the Netflix series. The actor admitted in a round table conversation for The Hollywood Reporter that he wasn’t well prepared to see himself on screen and in the buff for some of the scenes in the historic play. “Nobody was adequately prepared. I wasn’t prepared enough and I was there, ”said Page. “I think people were grateful for the intensity of the romantic aspects of Bridgerton. I’m not sure how grateful I was to see it for myself. It was overwhelming. But I think people wanted to be overwhelmed. “

On the other hand, his family was looking for a different feel to the spectator – seeing Page’s full character wasn’t exactly on the menu. “My family doesn’t want to be overwhelmed by my bum too often, but they’ll take this opportunity because everyone seems terribly happy,” he said of their reactions. While not getting into his parents’ thoughts about the show’s famous “I’m Burning For You” scene, he recently cleared the air about whose character the famous four words were actually said about.

For Variety’s Making of a Scene, Page got straight to the point, saying, “I’m not saying, ‘I’m on fire for you’. It’s not my line!” In fact, it is Pheobe Dynevor who plays Daphne who gives the line in the fifth episode of the series. “Everyone was obviously feeling very burned, which I’ll take as a compliment,” joked Page.

“The key to such a dialogue is to make it as organic and as real as possible,” said Dynevor about her performance. “There is no other way to say such a line than to make it an inner feeling.” However, Dynevor says that at the time of her recitation, she had no idea that it would be the line everyone would remember. “You have no idea what lines will interest people,” added Dynevor, adding that the line became such a fan favorite. “That was surprising to me. It wasn’t like I saw ‘I’m on fire for you’ in the script and said, ‘This is what people are going to talk about.'”
