Residents south of Snowflake warned of the risk of flooding after the dam breach | Arizona News
NEAR TAYLOR, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Flood hazard warnings are issued in some neighborhoods in Navajo County, northern Arizona, after a dam has been breached and a strong stream of water rushed into the area.
The Millet Swale Levee, near the Taylor area, north of Show Low, was breached around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Floods have spilled into the surrounding country.

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff issued a Flash Flood Warning for Taylor and Snowflake in Navajo County until 10:15 p.m. NWS says minor flooding of residential and commercial areas is expected in Taylor and Snowflake, according to Navajo County Emergency Management. Residents downstream of Millet Swale three miles south of the dam have been ordered to evacuate.

Homeowners can evacuate on Lovelake Rd. through Center St. officials say water is rising under Center St. Bridge and only local traffic is allowed to pass. All homeowners adjacent to the Silver Creek Basin should be aware of the potential for water spread as a result of this violation.
