Sharon Lee Cachora Menta

May 26, 1959 – May 16, 2022

Sharon Lee Cachora-Menta, 62, passed on to the spirit world surrounded by her loved ones on May 16, 2022 on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation. Sharon was a tribal member of the Quechan Indian Tribe. She was born on May 26,1959 to Tedley and Shirley Cachora on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation. She was raised in Los Angeles, California until her teens when the family moved to the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation.

During her High School years, she attended Sherman Indian High school, Intermountain Indian School and Phoenix Indian School. She attended San Pasqual Alternative School. Sharon received her diploma and attended Haskell Indian College. Sharon returned to Winterhaven, California. She had a son, Adam Moses Wayne Cachora whom she loved and cared for until his death. Sharon became employed by the Quechan Indian Tribe as a Security Officer. She then met Donald Menta and love bloomed. She then had her daughter Chynna Cachora-Menta. She married Donald Menta in July of 2016. Sharon loved visiting Casinos, Beading, and Traveling to Pow-Wows and the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Her favorite team was the New York Jets.

Sharon leaves behind her husband Donald Menta and daughter Chynna Cachora-Menta, stepdaughters Jennifer Menta, and Donella Menta, stepson Hamilton Menta. sisters Barbara A. Cachora (Vernon), Bernadine Cachora, Sharlene (John) Glossop. Brother; Wade Torres. aunt Wilma Solis. Nieces; Angela Cachora, Starla Cachora, Amber Espino, Brandy Cachora, Derricka Cachora, Tory Cachora, Louise Glossop. nephews; Kyle Cachora, Ryan Cachora, Derrick Jose, Brendan Jose, Jacob Glossop.

Sharon was preceded in death by her Parents, Tedley Cachora and Shirley Fatty Cachora. Son: Adam Moses Wayne Cachora. Paternal Grandparents: Alexander and Mary Papal Cachora and May Yuma. Maternal Grandparents: Eustace and Nora Fatty. Uncles: Wayne Cachora, Harland Cachora. Aunts: Della Padilla, Lavina Gallerito, Pauline Murphy, Sophie Sago. Great Uncles: Pete Cachora, Ignatius Cachora.

Services will be held at Yuma Mortuary on May 26, 2022. A family viewing at 12pm, public viewing at 1pm, individual speakers at 2pm followed by a service by Reverend Julian Gunn. Quechan Tribal Rites at the Quechan Big House at 5pm. Cremation at 5am May 2, 2022.

Pallbearers are Kyle Cachora, Ryan Cachora, Derrick Jose, Brendan Jose, James Espino, Jacob Glossop. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Menta, Hamilton Menta, Steven Johnson, Vernon Jose, Lorey Cachora, Jr, John Glossop, Wade Torres, Eustin Murphy, Dennis Meyers, Steven Vasquez, Peirce Cachora, Jepa Cachora, Alexander T. Cachora, Max P. cachora
