Showers in the Phoenix area are rising by three-digit temperatures
Most of the rain has passed through the valley and left high temperatures later over the weekend.
Light showers passed through Phoenix on Tuesday morning, leaving small signs that they were even occurring as temperatures hit the 100s by Friday, said National Weather Service meteorologist Marvin Percha.
The scanty rain began Monday evening and continued through Tuesday morning with the most significant rainfall in the East Valley getting barely 0.01 inches of rain, Percha said.
“There could be a few more isolated showers, maybe even a thunderstorm this afternoon, but most areas will stay dry today,” Percha said.
By Tuesday afternoon, any remaining clouds should lift with temperatures of around 74 degrees, he said.
Towards Saturday, temperatures are likely to be in the three-digit range, possibly with record highs of 102 for Friday and 103 for Saturday, Percha added.
