South Tucson woman turns hobby into florist during pandemic
TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) – Meibel Samaniego from South Tucson took her passion to the next level.
“I really like flowers, handicrafts, and putting things together,” said Samaniego.
She started a flower shop called Enchanted Roses USA from her home. Their flowers are grown in Ecuador and can be kept for over a year.
“I’m happy that you can get something of good quality and give it to your loved ones,” said Samaniego.
Samaniego became interested when she said she saw a similar product online that was selling for hundreds of dollars. She wanted the arrangements to be accessible to everyone in Tucson.
“I started selling the flowers about two or three months ago,” said Samaniego.
She only markets her arrangements on social media.
“The first week I started selling on Valentine’s Day in January, I was almost sold out. I only have a few left. I used to have 50 to 100 boxes.”
It is certain that her hobby is now flourishing.
“These flowers last a long time. I am pleased that people can have something beautiful in their house for a long time,” said Samaniego.
Samaniego hopes to expand their business and open their own website in the spring.
