Special weather statement issued July 13th at 4:45 p.m. MDT by NWS Tucson AZ
At 344 a.m. MST, the Doppler radar tracked a severe thunderstorm 7
Miles southeast of Corona De Tucson or 26 miles east of Sahuarita,
northwest at 20 miles an hour.
In this storm, gusts of wind of up to 50 miles per hour are possible.
Affected locations include …
Sahuarita, Vail, Eastern Sahuarita, Sonoita, Corona De Tucson and Madera
Canyon.
This storm also has heavy rains that are too
localized floods. Do not drive your vehicle through floods
Roadways.
Cloud-to-ground lightning is common in this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles from a thunderstorm. Find a safe
Protection in a building or vehicle.
This storm can get worse, so be sure to monitor the local radio
Channels and available TV channels for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
