Taylor Farms and National Guard vaccinate more than 800 Yuma farm workers

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – An agricultural industry vaccinated more than 800 field workers and supervisors at their Yuma facility.

KSBW reported that the vaccination clinic was a joint effort by Taylor Farms, the Yuma Health Department and the National Guard.

More than 800 field workers received their first dose. You are expected to receive the second dose within the next month.

The vaccine was given to farm workers who will soon be migrating from the fields in the Salinas Valley.

Marcus Shebl, Vice President of Operations at Taylor Farms, told KSBW: “This is obviously a big deal for us and our management team. We have been able to have a steady stream of people, employing between 30 and 35 people.” every 15 minutes, so more than a hundred people per hour, which is of course fantastic when you work with over 1,000 employees. “

Sources say 300 farm workers were vaccinated in Salinas last month. Taylor Farms plans to open another vaccination clinic for 1,200 employees by the end of the week.
