Test message of the emergency preparedness system is supposed to be in Yuma. be heard

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma Area Office (YAO) of the Yumas Bureau of Reclamation will be conducting several tests of a new large-scale mass notification system this week.

The test is performed to verify that the YAO emergency preparedness system has been properly installed before it is put into service.

The sirens of the extensive mass notification system were developed to warn both local employees and residents of an impending emergency in the YAO. They can be heard several miles from the facility.

No action or response from residents, businesses, or the local farming community is required during the emergency testing process.

An audible “This is just a test” message will sound during the test.
