The adult probation office is moving to a smaller building north of downtown Flagstaff
The Coconino County Adult Parole Office is located at 222 E. Birch Ave. moved to new address at 420 N. San Francisco St. in Flagstaff.
Sarah Douthit, chief probation officer, said moving after a partial transition from home caused by the pandemic had shown they needed less office space than previously thought.
Moving to a smaller building would also be cheaper, Douthit said, saving taxpayers money.
“Adult Probation is excited to be making our contribution to the county’s Space Reimagined Initiative, which is seeking solutions and cost savings in terms of office space and remote working. By moving to a smaller office, the adult probation department is committed to reducing the financial burden of the criminal justice system on taxpayers, ”Douthit said in a statement. “It feels great to have a new home where we can serve the community efficiently.”
The move took place in April and the adult probation service resumed at its new location shortly thereafter. The opening times are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
