The AGTA GemFair Tucson begins next week

(PRESS RELEASE) DALLAS, TX – The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) announced that the 2022 AGTA GemFair Tucson is on schedule February 1-6, 2022 as planned. The priority of AGTA is the safety of buyers and exhibitors attending the show. For this reason, AGTA will refrain from large social gatherings this year, including the 40th Anniversary Opening Ceremony; the AGTA Spectrum Awards Gala Dinner; and the AGTA GemFair Tucson Seminar Series sponsored by the American Gem Society.

“We’ve had an exceptionally strong response from buyer registrations and our exhibitor participation is over 90% compared to 2020. The whole industry has been excited about our show, which always starts at the beginning of each year, and I’m happy to share it with you to make this possible knowing that all signs point to a monster show,” said Douglas K. Hucker, CEO of AGTA. “Many of our attendees indicated that they would focus on business and prefer not to attend social events or presentations. So we made the difficult decision to forgo those plans for 2022.”

The safety guidelines of the AGTA GemFair Tucson Show follow both the City of Tucson and Pima County Health Department protocols for attendance at the Tucson Convention Center. Masks are compulsory for all participants. We will also be offering daily rapid on-site testing as well as on-site immunizations provided by the Pima County Department of Health for anyone who wishes to attend. Neither rapid tests nor vaccination records are required to enter the facility or attend the show, but are offered as a voluntary service of reassurance. For a complete list of security protocols, see the website at agta.org.
