The Channelside Drive tunnel in Tampa is given a brand new creative luster
New Art Display Debuts
Here’s a look at the new lights in the tunnel under the Tampa Convention Center.
TAMPA, Fla. – – The tunnel under the Convention Center in downtown Tampa is much more colorful now. It is now lit with LED lights.
The lights run along the tunnel and are programmed to synchronize with unique color sequences.
The new art installation entitled “The Circle of Unity” is part of the “Lights on Tampa” program.
“Circle of Unity. I couldn’t think of a better name for a more wonderful arts program to bring our community together,” offered Mayor Jane Castor.
Castor hopes the project will also have the added value of slowing down traffic in the Channelside Drive tunnel.
Additional Lights on Tampa installations are planned for other parts of downtown.
