The desperate ex-Page 3 model killed herself in a bicycle accident 18 months after the death of her teenage son
A former glamor model turned TV host took her own life in a motorcycle accident 18 months after the death of her teenage son, according to an investigation.
Former model Sam Ramplin, who also hosted the Hollywood celebrity show Tinseltown and was dating Batman actor Michael Keaton, died in Spain in January this year.
The court heard that she was devastated by the death of her son Denny and wanted to be restored with him in an “afterlife”.
The 47-year-old was working as a carer when her son died in May 2019 after a traffic accident.
Her sister Michelle Thompson said the reality TV show Hell’s Kitchen runner-up had too much alcohol and promised she would “see Denny soon.”

“She has been a great mother over the years.
“She loved her two children, a daughter, Summer Richardson, who is 27, and Denny, who would have turned 19.
“Unfortunately, Denny was involved in a motorcycle accident two years ago at the age of 17 that cost him his life.
“The tragedy hit the family very hard, especially my sister Sam.

“Sam had a very colorful life. She was a glamor model, she had done TV work that unfortunately fizzled out over the years.
“She had many ups and downs in her career, some of which made her feel very depressed.
“Although she was fun and loving, there were dark times when she felt down. Her grief for him was immense. She drank alcohol, but this became more common when he died.
“We as a family always had the feeling that we were always there to bring them through dark times.”
Coroner Walthamstow heard that Ms. Ramplin hanged herself in her home in Malaga.
A toxicological and pathological report found no natural disease or trauma and could not find any trace of alcohol or drugs.

Coroner Graeme Irvine said this could be because Ms. Ramplin’s body had to be embalmed to be returned to the UK.
He said, “It seems like pressure was put on the blood vessels in her throat that caused her to pass out and then die.
“There was no sign of traumatic injury or fighting.”
He continued, “We know there was an incident in 2019 where Sam was examined by the local psychiatric trust, the Essex Partnership University Trust.
“Basically, while drunk, Sam had made remarks to people around her that she was considering ending her life.
“Those who are taking care of her decided to call an ambulance and she was taken to a safe place for a short time.

“Unfortunately she was drunk.
“When she was sober again, an assessment was made by a psychiatric nurse on May 9, 2019, and it seems that Sam’s presentation was really regretted.
“She assured the psychiatric nurse that she was previously very distressed, upset and overwhelmed after the death of her son, and was drunk.
“She told people that she wanted to be with her son.”
Her sister, who attended the hearing from afar, said she remembers walking to Denny’s grave with Ms. Ramplin on his 19th birthday.
She said, “She came to me last October and we went to Denny’s grave on his 19th birthday.

“She said, ‘I’ll be there soon’. I said ‘don’t be silly’ but she said ‘no, I’m serious, I don’t know how to live anymore’. “
Ms. Thompson added, “She was stubborn in her own way. She wouldn’t accept help so easily.
“We got her through day after day, but no one can understand when she is alone.
“She believed there would be another life after that and I don’t know if that helped, but I hope she got through the two years without Denny.”
In summary, Mr. Irvine said: “In 2019 Ms. Ramplin went through an incredible emotional trauma.
“Your son died in a traffic accident that greatly affected Sam.
“We know that after a short time she was taken to a safe place and her mental health checked because she was very drunk and said that she no longer wanted to live and be with her.” Her son.
“After a period of stabilization, Ms. Ramplin thought about it and it seemed like the doctors were reassured that with some support, she would be stable.
“She said she had a very supportive family and was discharged from mental health service with this insurance and she said she was in Spain for some time.
“Sam was prescribed two types of medication by her family doctor, an antidepressant and a sleeping pill.
“We know Sam traveled to Spain and settled in an area in Malaga.
“Very sadly, Sam was found unavailable at her home address in Spain.
“The Spanish authorities have established that she died by hanging from mechanical suffocation.”
The coroner returned a suicide sentence and offered condolences to Mrs. Ramplin’s sister.
He said, “Sam was a young woman and she has obviously been through a lot in the last two years of her life.
“You’ve already spent time mourning Denny, but then mourning Sam is even worse.
“I offer my condolences.”
Ms. Ramplin was born and raised on Canvey Island, Essex, but her career resulted in her fleeing to Hollywood for work.
She interviewed stars like Jamie Lee Curtis and Jack Black when she presented the Tinseltown show in the 2000s.
In addition to presenting, she was a talented hairdresser and had a successful modeling career.
