If you’ve been to Tucson before, you’ve probably heard or seen Eegee’s, a Tucson-based fast food restaurant that serves iconic frozen fruit drinks and sub sandwiches.

Eegee’s was founded in Tucson in 1971 when the founders bought a vending cart to serve their frozen lemonade drink at high schools, sporting events, and concerts. The truck was eventually retired when the business expanded to restaurants.

Rumors have been circulating for years that an Eegee’s with 27 locations in Tucson and Casa Grande would open a location in the Valley.

It was announced on Tuesday that these rumors will finally become a reality in July.

The Valley Store will be located in Gilbert on Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive.

The company also announced that it will fill over 60 positions for both the front and back yards and hold a two-day job fair on June 12th and 13th.

The interviews take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Candidates can visit the Gilbert location for a guaranteed job interview. Those who cannot take part in the job fair can also apply online.

Before the restaurant opens, Eegee’s will host surprising pop-up events across the valley to give residents who have not yet experienced the drink a first taste. Follow Eegee’s on Instagram for date, time and location information.
