The interior seating in the Phoenix restaurant is only suitable for vaccinated people | Coronavirus in Arizona
PHOENIX, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – For a few days now, customers have noticed a sign at the entrance to Oven + Vine. This popular Midtown Phoenix restaurant and wine bar is located on Central Avenue and Thomas Road. The sign reads, “Indoor seating is available for vaccinated people.” And to “Please show proof of vaccination when ordering.”
The restaurant owners said the sign was not politically motivated and several of their family members were immunocompromised. Owners said the sign was more intended to alleviate concerns from customers who are worried about eating out.
Monica Gonzales now lives in the area, although she is not vaccinated, she does not mind politics. “It’s their business. They have the right to do what they want. At the same time, there are other points of contact. It’s not my job to tell them how to ultimately run their business,” said Gonzales.
How feasible is it for companies to request proof of vaccination? Experts are divided
“I wish more restaurants would do this. I just came back from Seattle on vacation and there are many such establishments that require vaccinations,” said customer Chris Kinzig.
This is because the Delta variant is fueling COVID-19 cases in Arizona, which have nearly doubled since early July. “If it follows the pattern it did before, mainly Europe first, then it’s only a matter of time before the surge occurs,” said emergency doctor Murtaza Akhter of the University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Dr. Eighth also said hospitalization rates are also rising. “The only people I see in the hospital, the only people I see with COVID symptoms are the unvaccinated, with no expectation in the emergency room, I see that,” said Dr. Akhter.
