The motorcycle hunt in Page County ends with an arrest news item
(College Springs) – A College Springs man faces numerous charges after leading Page County authorities in a motorcycle chase on Thursday.
Page County sheriff Lyle Palmer, 51-year-old Steven William Wells of College Springs was arrested in connection with an incident that began when the sheriff’s office tried to find a red Kawasaki motorcycle with no license plate on 310th Street west of the Stop on Highway 71. about a mile north of Braddyville. Wells’ motorcycle accelerated to speeds in excess of 100 mph and continued west on 310th Street, according to Palmer. A sheriff’s deputy followed with lights and sirens activated in the fully marked patrol car. The motorcycle traveled west for approximately 3.5 miles at a speed of over 100 mph before turning north on Oak Street and entering College Springs. The motorcycle was eventually stopped at 806 Pine Street in College Springs, where the suspect was taken into custody.
Wells faces charges while driving while a driver’s license escapes or attempts to evade a peace officer, as well as numerous other traffic violations from the pursuit. He is being held in Page County Jail on a $ 4,000 bond.
