The new Yuma store joins the fight against hunger

The cut of the tape is still fresh, but Batteries Plus is on the right track

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Batteries Plus just held its ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this month. But the company wants residents to know they are here for the long term.

The retailer trades in automotive and home improvement products. However, according to Mario Guevara, the manager at their 25th Street and 4th Avenue location, they don’t want to be known just for what they sell.

Guevara, who is also a member of the local chapter of the Nokturnal Car Club, reached out to the auto community to find out how the business and its club can make a difference.

Prior to the global pandemic, a club launched and initiated a series of fundraising events to collect food for nonprofits in the area and water for first responders. The Dezert Syndicate Car Club started the war on hunger and began recruiting clubs, nonprofessionals and regional companies.

On Saturday, April 3, 2021, Batterties Plus, in coordination with the Nokturnal Car Club, will host a car meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., which will be reflected in a mixer of car enthusiasts. The Dezert Syndicate will also be on hand to collect food, hygiene and other donations for the Crossroads mission.
