The newest sports craze is now in Yuma

PickleBall has conquered the nation and now the city of Yuma is introducing the sport to everyone

YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Described as the latest craze, people claim that PickleBall is spreading like wildfire. In this case, the fire is spreading, but at a decent pace since it was first played in the mid-1960s.

Yumas Parks and Recreation Department director Jason Nau has received countless requests to provide more PickleBall spaces and events.

Our first question was “What is PickleBall?” to which Nau replied that it was a mix of badminton, paddleball and table tennis. He added that the appeal of the sport is that it is relatively easy to play.

So the community called and Nau and his staff answered, so the city of Yuma is introducing PickleBall on August 7, 2021 at 9 a.m.

Nau tells us he wanted to get it right and make it big, and what’s bigger than Yuma’s largest venue, the Yuma Room at the Yuma Civic Center?

Now, if you are interested, the event is free and all ages are welcome.
