The Phoenix event provides free legal assistance on deletion of records
Clarify marijuana beliefs
PHOENIX – – With marijuana now legal in Arizona, people convicted of drug use are wondering what happens to their criminal records as many want them cleared.
Under the new law, lawyers from the valley say anyone convicted of 2.5 ounces of marijuana or less is entitled to have their records deleted.
On April 17th, a Phoenix pharmacy will hold a clinic with free advice from eight lawyers.
The organizers point out that many people cannot find work because of nonviolent beliefs. They hope this “wiping out clinic” will destroy some of the marijuana beliefs.
“There are many people who have committed crimes in the past, simple crimes that are non-violent for cannabis,” said Chris Ramondetta, regional marketing manager for Vireo Health. “We’re looking for eight lawyers on hand to help anyone in the community who would try to clear their cannabis criminal records for free.”
The event takes place from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at Arizona Natural Remedies / Green Goods at 22041 N. 23rd Avenue. Pre-registration is required and bring a case report if possible.
