The Tampa Bay Collard Inexperienced Competition returns in 2021 with digital and in-person occasions

The Tampa Bay Collard Green Festival, Inc (TBCGF, Inc.) is a 501 (c) (3) charity that has invested in the general health and wellbeing of Tampa Bay – and organizers just announced that the festival will return in 2021 with virtual and in-person events.

The incredible Sunshine City Health and Justice event was co-founded three years ago by Boyzell Hosey and Samantha Harris. Since its inception, it has become one of the most famous events in the castle, both for its educational components and for the incredible spread of food.

Education and entertainment in one festival

“We strive to bring together a balanced mix of resources, education and support in a fun and meaningful way,” write the co-founders on the Collard Green Festival website.

Your mission is simple:

“Inspire Healthier Communities through Urban Agriculture, Dining Experience, Nutrition Education, Fitness and Family Fun”

In its opening year TBCGF Inc. engaged the community in partnership with the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum.

Holistic focus on a healthier life

TBCF is not alone. Collard Green Festivals are on the rise nationwide; However, the St. Pete event has a unique twist! From fresh produce to growing plants, researching different cooking methods to diet education and much more, TBCGF embodies a collaborative and holistic focus on healthier living.

An official date is still TBA, but donations are always accepted to support the festival and its work in the community.
