The Tucson FC women’s team announces a new season

TUCSON (KVOA) – Tucson FC have announced that the women’s team will return to the Women’s Premier Soccer League in 2021.

The Tucson FC women’s team has canceled the 2020 season in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After a yearlong hiatus, we are excited to announce the long-awaited return of the women of Tucson FC,” said Amanda Powers, president of Tucson FC. “Our women’s side is an important part of our club and I can’t wait for Kelly Pierce and her staff to be much more successful. This club is keen to grow the game at all levels and that commitment would not be possible without Tucson Women FC. “

The Tucson FC women’s squad begins the season on June 4th at the Kino Stadium against El Paso Surf.

Former Tucson Women FC player and captain Kelly Pierce will return as the club’s head coach.

“All of our staff and everyone behind the scenes looks forward to seeing you again,” said Kelly Pierce. “The WPSL break was unfortunate, but it was the safest thing to do at the time. We are excited about the coming season and expect to bring high quality women’s football to the Kino Stadium again this year. “

The team will have an open rehearsal on Sunday May 16 at the Sports Complex cinema.

Interested players should register for the tryout on May 16 at fctucson.com/fctwomentrials.
