The Yuma Walmart employee is commended for doing the right thing
The lost rent check led the local man on a desperate search until the worker saved his day – News 11’s Adonis Albright has the story
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A local Yuma man calls a Walmart employee after finding and returning his lost money order on the floor.
Loyal McCammond, a local with a passion for cars, said he went to Walmart on Pacific Avenue Wednesday morning to get a money order for $ 450 to pay his son’s rent.
After leaving the store, he ran some errands in town. When he was about to pay the rent, he found that the money order could not be found.
“You’re talking about fear, a traumatic situation, you know I didn’t know what to do,” McCammond said.
He returned to one of the places he had been, the Harbor Freight Store on S Fourth Avenue, and went in to ask the staff if anyone might have seen it. But no dice.
Then he called Walmart and explained the situation, only to get a big surprise.
“When I called and explained the situation and called for help, this sweet young lady said on the phone, Mr. McCammond, you haven’t lost your money order, it wasn’t stolen. It was recorded here on the floor and we are keeping it here for you. “
McCammond said the employee who found it was called Luz, a team leader at the local Walmart. He hopes that this act of kindness inspires others to do the same.
“You know, there are still some good people out there … Luz, thank you very much, I appreciate that.”
News 11 reached out to Walmart to speak to the representative but is still waiting for a response.
