Third stray pig found in Yuma this year

If the pig is not picked up, it will be handed over to the state’s Department of Agriculture

YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Another stray pig is found at large on another day.

The Livestock Unit supported on Wednesday with a report on a loose pig in the Magnolia Avenue and 6th Square area. According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), it was the Yuma Police Department animal control officers who rescued the migrating pig.

If it is unclaimed for seven days after July 28, it will be turned over to the Arizona Department of Agriculture.

In the meantime, it will remain with the YCSO’s Livestock Unit. Anyone trying to claim the pig can contact YCSO at 928-783-4427.

This is the third stray pig reported in 2021.
